Yellowave Beach Sports Centre, 299 Madeira Drive, Brighton

A derelict children’s’ playground site transformed into a facility offering volleyball, beach soccer, beach rugby and foot volley. A four-metre high “bouldering” wall for climbers is provided, alongside a pavilion accommodating a reception, café, and w.c. and shower/changing facilities. The Centre will play host to major sporting events attracting up to 3,000 spectators.

The repair of the surviving 18th Century Portland stone structure of the Ionic Rotunda in “the pleasure ground”, on the edge of the gardens of Petworth House and the reinstatement of the Rotunda’s dome.

Friary Gardeners offer horticultural training and greater independence to adults with a wide range of learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
So far all work undertaken has been from staff, service users and volunteer helpers. Major future restorations will be made professionally, using craftsmen sympathetic with the site’s historic legacy.
